(Arlington, VA) — The Pentagon is prioritizing anti-drone technology development. That’s according to a new memo from Secretary of War Pete Hegseth. It instructs the Department of War to treat delays in the employment of counter-unmanned aircraft systems as an “operational risk.” This as drones have been deployed in conflicts across the world, notably in Ukraine as the country blocks Russia’s forces using unmanned systems. They’re also used at the U.S. southern border as the Department of Homeland Security works to counter smuggling operations from cartels.
