Illinois doctors get a reprieve

(SRN NEWS) – The state says it will abide by a court order that bars it from forcing Catholic hospitals and other religious medical practitioners from carrying out or being involved in assisted suicide. Illinois recently legalized the practice, putting some doctors, nurses and institutions in a position of having to choose between their faith and the law. Peter Breen of The Thomas More Society says “We will not rest until Illinois’s immoral and coercive assisted suicide mandate is struck down for good.”
