(SRN NEWS)- The religious freedom watch dog Bitter Winter reports that the Communist Party has held meetings with faith leaders across the nation and told them that they must preach that “national law takes precedence over religious norms.” Bitter Winter says the Catholic bishops who are appointed by the Party have embraced this notion and are actively promoting it. In China the Party selects the Catholic bishops and asks that the Vatican approve them.
