Yankees recall RHP Yovanny Cruz to refresh bullpen

The New York Yankees recalled right-hander Yovanny Cruz from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday and optioned right-hander Yerry De los Santos to Triple-A.
Cruz, 26, made his major league debut May 20 and did not give up a run over two relief outings (2 1/3 innings) before he was sent back down. He was in the minor leagues for eight seasons with four different clubs before finally breaking through this year.
De los Santos, 28, has a 1.04 ERA in five relief appearances for the Yankees over three separate stints this season. He is 1-5 with a 3.53 ERA in 78 career relief appearances with the Pittsburgh Pirates (2022-23) and Yankees (2025-26).
