Oct 20 (Field Level Media) – Minnesota Timberwolves forward Jaden McDaniels agreed to a one-year, $40 million extension through the 2029-30 season.

His representatives from Innovate Sports and WME Basketball confirmed the deal’s details with ESPN on Monday night.

Under the terms, McDaniels will be able to negotiate another extension as early as 2028 or enter free agency in the summer of 2030.

McDaniels, who turned 26 last month, signed a five-year, $136 million contract with the Timberwolves in October 2023.

He averaged a career-high 14.8 points with 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists and shot 41.2% from 3-point range in 73 games (all starts) in 2025-26.

The 2020 first-round draft pick will tip off his seventh campaign with Minnesota in Wednesday night’s season opener at Miami.
