Hockey legend Wayne Gretzky has reached agreement on a multi-year contract extension to remain as an NHL analyst with Turner Sports.

The news was announced Monday on the NHL on TNT official account on X. No contract details were provided.

The 64-year-old Gretzky joined Turner Sports as a studio analyst ahead of the 2021-22 season. To take that job, he resigned as vice chairman of the Edmonton Oilers, the club he led to four Stanley Cup championships as a player in the 1980s.

Post-retirement from the NHL, he also was a minority investor and coach of the Phoenix Coyotes and executive director of the 2002 Canadian national team that won the gold medal in men’s hockey at the Salt Lake City Olympics.

He remains the all-time points leader in the NHL with 2,857.

The 2025-26 NHL season opens Tuesday.
