Walter Payton Man of the Year nominees named

The NFL revealed Thursday the 32 players nominated for the league’s most prestigious award, the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.

The players are the winners from each club, recognized for their play on the field and their commitment to “creating a positive impact beyond the game,” the league said.

“These 32 men represent the best of the NFL, and the incredible contributions they make to their teams and communities every day continue to keep Walter’s legacy alive,” commissioner Roger Goodell said in a news release.

Below is a list of this year’s club winners:

The winner will be announced during NFL Honors, the league’s award ceremony, on Feb. 5. The charitable beneficiary of each club winner will receive up to $40,000.

Five current NFL players have been named Walter Payton Man of the Year: Arik Armstead of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cam Heyward of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys, Russell Wilson of the New York Giants and Calais Campbell of the Arizona Cardinals.
