WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said on Friday it would next week publish August’s construction spending, factory orders and international trade, data that were delayed because of the recently ended shutdown of the federal government.
The construction spending report will be published on Monday, with the factory orders data released the following day. The Trade report will be published on Wednesday. All reports were initially due in early October.
The 43-day shutdown, the longest in history, halted the collection, processing and publishing of government-issued economic data, including the closely watched monthly employment and inflation reports.
“The U.S. Census Bureau will continue updating its economic indicator release calendar in coordination with other agencies and the Office of Management and Budget to address the impacts of the recent lapse in federal funding,” the agency said in a statement. “We will provide the updated release dates as soon as they become available.”
