The UFL parted ways with executive vice president Daryl Johnston on Wednesday.

The league released a statement saying it decided not to renew the former NFL fullback’s contract.

“We are grateful to Daryl for his passion, leadership, and unwavering dedication over the past four years,” the UFL statement read.

Johnson has been a fixture in the professional spring football scene since 2018, when he served as general manager of the San Antonio Commanders of the Alliance of American Football. In 2019, he became the director of player personnel for the XFL’s Dallas Renegades. He helped to get the USFL off the ground in 2022.

Johnston, 59, was better known as “Moose” and was beloved by Dallas Cowboys fans during an 11-season career (1989-99) that included three Super Bowl wins and two Pro Bowl selections.
