The Minnesota Twins reinstated third baseman Royce Lewis from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday’s series opener against the host New York Mets.

Lewis, 26, missed the last nine games with a left knee sprain. He was 2-for-7 with two home runs and three RBIs in two rehab games with Triple-A St. Paul.

Before the injury, the former No. 1 overall draft pick was batting .222 with two home runs, two doubles and eight RBIs in 12 games this season.

The Twins placed left-hander Kody Funderburk on the paternity list to make room for Lewis on the 26-man roster.

Minnesota also recalled left-hander Kendry Rojas from St. Paul to take the roster spot opened Monday when right-hander Mick Abel went on the 15-day IL with elbow inflammation.

Rojas, 23, has yet to make his major league debut and is ranked as Minnesota’s No. 10 prospect by MLB Pipeline. He is 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA in three games (two starts) between Class-A Fort Myers and Triple-A St. Paul this season.
