May 15 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday announced a new National Garden of American Heroes in the District of Columbia to help mark the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the United States in July.

* The garden will be located in West Potomac Park on the Potomac River, he said in a post on Truth Social

* Trump said the park would feature statues of the country’s founding fathers, military warriors, religious leaders, civil rights champions, athletes, artists and entertainers

* As part of the celebrations to mark the founding of the United States in 1776, Trump is also pushing for the creation of a 250-foot (76-meter) “Triumphal Arch” in Washington
