Woman Killed, 9 Wounded in Beersheba Terror Attack; Assailant Neutralized

By The Media Line Staff

A terror attack at the Beersheba central bus station in southern Israel on Sunday left one woman dead and nine others wounded. The assailant, who was shot dead by security forces, reportedly operated in multiple locations before being neutralized.

Magen David Adom (MDA) first responders treated a critically wounded woman, reportedly a 20-year-old border police officer, at the scene, but she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arriving at Soroka Medical Center. Another woman sustained serious injuries, while four others were moderately wounded, and three more suffered light injuries.

Police are investigating whether the attacker used both a firearm and a knife during the rampage, as eyewitnesses reported hearing gunfire. Authorities have yet to determine if the terrorist had any accomplices and have urged the public to avoid the area while Southern District forces secure the site.

MDA paramedics described the chaotic scene, saying, “We provided initial treatment to the victims, including several people suffering from emotional shock due to the nature of the attack.”

In a statement, police spokesperson Aryeh Doron urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. “We are still in the midst of the incident,” he said, adding that searches are ongoing to ensure the area is fully secured.
