White House Fears Netanyahu Nuclear Post Could Trigger Iran Attack

By The Media Line Staff

White House officials expressed concern over a social media post by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu depicting an Iranian nuclear attack on Tel Aviv, fearing it could lead Tehran to believe an Israeli strike was imminent and trigger renewed hostilities, N12 reported.

Netanyahu posted the AI-generated image ahead of Israel’s elections on Tuesday as his campaign emphasized the nuclear threat posed by Iran.

According to N12, US officials were concerned that Tehran could interpret the post as signaling an impending attack, potentially prompting Iran to strike and leading to a resumption and escalation of hostilities.

The outlet said US President Donald Trump’s statement this afternoon that there would be no strike on Iran today may have been intended to reassure officials in Tehran.

Netanyahu also shared a text on his social media post by Yuval Blumberg arguing that Iran’s nuclear program represents an existential danger to Israel and should take precedence over other political issues.

Blumberg wrote that Israel has a limited opportunity to address the Iranian threat during the remaining two years of Trump’s term, citing uncertainty over who will succeed him.

“This is the window of time we have left to complete the necessary work to ensure our physical existence for the coming years,” Blumberg wrote, arguing that the state should devote the necessary resources to the effort.

He characterized controversies involving Qatar, Haredim, conscription as “one giant smokescreen” distracting from Iran.

Blumberg also argued that confronting the threat requires a prime minister who can maintain close communication with Trump and withstand political pressure.

“The hatred for Netanyahu, as all-consuming as it is for an entire camp, won’t help against the Iranian nuclear threat,” he wrote.

Blumberg warned that future generations would not forgive Israel if it failed to take advantage of what he described as a historic opportunity to confront the threat.
