Victim of Hezbollah Anti-Tank Missile Strike Near Kibbutz Misgav Am Identified as Ofer Moskovitz

Ofer (“Pushko”) Moskovitz, an avocado cultivation manager in kibbutz Misgav Am was identified as the man killed on Sunday morning after his vehicle sustained a direct hit from a Hezbollah missile and caught fire, officials said.
Rescue teams pulled Moskovitz from the vehicle and pronounced him dead at the scene. A second vehicle nearby also caught fire in the strike, which occurred without warning sirens.
Moskovitz was a well-known figure in the Upper Galilee who spent his life working in agriculture along the border. He managed and cultivated 400 dunams of avocado orchards in the kibbutz, where he was widely recognized for his work and presence in the community.
In an interview with N12 just last week, Moskovitz spoke about his connection to the land and his motivation to continue farming despite ongoing security threats. “These are our lives, and we are building a new life here. These trees will be here long after I’m gone,” he said. He added that he hoped future generations would recognize his efforts, saying his grandchildren would one day say, “This is the orchard my grandfather planted.”
The missile strike also caused damage to residential structures in the kibbutz. Two homes sustained direct hits, but residents who had taken shelter in a safe room were not injured.
Police said northern district officers, along with Border Police units and bomb disposal teams, were deployed after reports that a munition had struck a vehicle near the Galilee Panhandle border.
