US Conducts Airstrikes in Yemen After Houthi Attack on Israel

The US military carried out airstrikes in Yemen’s northern Saada province on Tuesday night, according to Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. The reported strikes targeted the Takhyah area in the Majz district, though no details on casualties or damage have been provided, and the US has yet to issue a response.
The strikes followed an earlier Houthi missile launch toward Israel’s Nevatim Air Base. The Iran-backed group claimed that a Palestine-2 hypersonic missile successfully hit its target. However, the Israeli military stated that the Israeli Air Force intercepted the missile before entering Israeli airspace.
US President Donald Trump recently ordered continued military action against the Houthis, responding to their attacks on commercial and military vessels in the Red Sea. The Houthis have justified their strikes as retaliation against Israel’s blockade on Gaza and have vowed to continue targeting Israeli-linked ships until aid flows freely into the Palestinian enclave.
Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi warned in a televised speech on Tuesday that the group would escalate its attacks if Israel did not halt its latest military campaign in Gaza. Earlier the same day, Israel launched large-scale airstrikes across Gaza, killing more than 400 people according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in the coastal enclave and breaking a ceasefire that had been in place since January 19. The renewed violence has drawn widespread condemnation from the international community.
