MK Akram Hasson Warns US Delegation Against Ties with Syrian Regime

By The Media Line Staff

Knesset Member Dr. Akram Hasson met in his office with a delegation of five members of the US Congress, holding what he described as a diplomatic and humanitarian discussion on the worsening situation in southern Syria’s As-Suwayda province.

Hasson presented the lawmakers with a file containing testimonies, photographs, and evidence of human rights violations and war crimes committed by what he called “the terrorist Jolani regime.” He cautioned the delegation against any form of cooperation with the Syrian leadership, saying it was a regime that “has lost all human semblance.”

The visiting group consisted of Democratic lawmakers serving in the Maryland State Senate and House of Delegates: Mark Edelson, delegate; Dayla Attar, state senator; Shelly Hettleman, state senator; Benjamin Kramer, state senator; and Karen Lewis Young, state senator.

Joining the meeting was Maj. Gen. (res.) Hasson Hasson, former Military Secretary to the President of Israel, who delivered a security briefing on developments in the Syrian arena. The delegation was also accompanied by Susan Hasson, a member of the Druze community who serves as a professional representative of Israel at the embassy in Washington. Dr. Hasson praised her contribution, calling her performance impressive.

According to the Knesset member, the meeting forms part of a broader international effort to reveal the crimes of the Syrian regime and rally humanitarian and security support for the Druze and other minority communities in the region.
