Israelis Concerned: Who Are the 3 Women Still in Gaza?
As Israel welcomes some hostages home, families of three women—Shiri Bibas (with her two children), Judy Weinstein-Haggai, and Inbar Haiman—still await their return or remains, refusing to give up hope

As Israel welcomes home three more hostages, the families of those still missing—both living and dead—remain trapped in an agonizing limbo. Among them are three women: Shiri Bibas, Judy Weinstein-Haggai, and Inbar Haiman, whose families continue to demand their return.
Shiri’s story first captured global attention when shocking footage showed her frantically wrapping her two young children—Ariel (4) and baby Kfir (then 9 months) in a blanket before all three were forced into Gaza by Hamas terrorists. Shiri’s parents—Yossi and Margit Silverman—were murdered in their own home on the kibbutz that same morning. Shiri’s husband, Yarden, was taken captive separately; he was released on February 1, 2025, and has since expressed grave concern for the fate of his wife and children.
Hamas claimed in November 2023 that Shiri and her two sons were killed in an Israeli strike, but no independent confirmation has been provided. Israeli officials have cited a video showing Shiri and her children alive in Gaza during the early days of the war. Shiri, who worked in her kibbutz’s accounting department, was deeply involved in the community, previously caring for children in Nir Oz.
Judy Weinstein-Haggai was reportedly kidnapped along with her partner, Gadi, during a morning walk in the Nir Oz fields. In frantic phone calls from the field, Judy pleaded for help as she reported Gadi’s severe injuries. Since that day, neither Judy nor Gadi have been heard from. Kibbutz Nir Oz announced on December 22, 2023, that Gadi had been murdered in Hamas captivity, with his body now held in Gaza.
Just days later, on December 28, 2023, the kibbutz confirmed that Judy was also murdered and that her remains are in the hands of the terrorist organization. A dedicated English teacher, Judy was known for her innovative work with anxious students and her children remember her as someone who saw an entire world in each of her students.
Inbar Haiman was kidnapped from a party in Re’im—a night meant for celebration turned into a nightmare. As a volunteer helper at the Nova party, Inbar was on hand to assist partygoers in distress when terrorists, riding a motorcycle from Kibbutz Be’eri, overtook the gathering.
Despite a desperate three-hour chase alongside two fellow Israelis, Inbar was ultimately captured. On December 15, her family received the grim news that Inbar had been murdered in captivity and that her body was being held by Hamas. Inbar was known as a talented visual communications student and graffiti artist – her signature name being “Pink.” In her memory, graffiti artists in Israel and around the world have taken to the streets, painting “Free Pink.”
