Israel Issues Alert for Possible Violence on Planned ‘Day of Rage’

By The Media Line Staff

The Israeli National Security Council (NSC) issued a global warning on Monday, urging Israelis abroad to remain vigilant ahead of today’s planned “Day of Rage” in support of the Palestinian cause. The council said pro-Palestinian groups intend to hold demonstrations in multiple countries and raised concerns about possible violence targeting Israelis and Jews.

“These protests and demonstrations may escalate into violent incidents against Israelis,” the NSC warned.

The warning follows calls by Hamas and affiliated organizations for global protests condemning Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Anti-Israel groups have promoted Tuesday’s demonstrations as a “global shutdown for Palestine,” with threats to block streets and disrupt commerce.

A senior Hamas official, Abdel Rahman Shadid, urged Palestinians in the West Bank and student groups to participate in mass demonstrations, denouncing what he called a “genocide war” and encouraging all forms of resistance. “We call on the free people of our nation and the university students of the occupied West Bank to mobilize and turn out widely in the angry marches scheduled for Tuesday,” Shadid said.

The NSC advised Israelis abroad to avoid protests, refrain from displaying Israeli symbols, and follow local security guidance. It emphasized the potential threat posed by individuals acting alone or groups trying to exploit the demonstrations to carry out attacks. Throughout the ongoing war, the council has seen “an increase in the activity of extremists around the world calling for protests and disruptions, and in some cases, calls of a violent nature,” it said.
