In a nationally televised address from the White House on Saturday night, US President Donald Trump confirmed the United States had successfully carried out a coordinated military operation targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. The speech came just hours after B-2 stealth bombers struck three of Iran’s most critical enrichment sites—Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan—marking a historic escalation in the conflict between Israel and Iran and the first direct US military strike on Iranian territory since the 1979 revolution.
Trump framed the operation as a decisive effort to eliminate what he described as “the nuclear threat posed by the world’s number one state sponsor of terror.” Declaring the strikes “a spectacular military success,” he said the facilities had been “completely and totally obliterated.” He praised the coordination with Israel and commended Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military for what he called an unprecedented joint effort.
