31 Sudanese Civilians Executed as RSF Tightens Control in Omdurman

At least 31 civilians were killed in the Al-Salha area of Omdurman, north of Sudan’s capital Khartoum, by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), according to reports from volunteer organizations on Sunday. The Sudanese Doctors Network described the incident as a “horrific massacre,” stating that those executed included underage children. The group labeled the killings as both a war crime and a crime against humanity, calling for urgent international intervention and the opening of safe corridors for civilians trapped in the area.
The Central Resistance Committees of Al-Salha also confirmed the mass killing, alleging that RSF fighters abducted and executed unarmed civilians. The Emergency Lawyers Initiative condemned the killings as “a brutal crime and a grave violation of all international conventions, amounting to war crimes and crimes against humanity.”
Footage circulating online, showing soldiers in RSF uniforms, depicted detainees seated on the ground before being shot. In one video, a soldier can be heard declaring, “We will leave no prisoners anymore.”
The RSF maintains control over the Al-Salha district, which has seen repeated clashes between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). The RSF has not issued a response to the latest allegations.
Sudan has been locked in a brutal conflict between the SAF and the RSF since April 2023. The war has killed tens of thousands of people, with exact figures uncertain, and displaced more than 15 million individuals, according to the International Organization for Migration.
