(SRN NEWS)- For the first time in years the denomination did NOT release its total membership numbers with its annual report, but it did reveal that baptisms and the total number of parishes continues to decline. The Episcopal Church began to decline some 20 years ago when it embraced homosexual ordination and later gay marriage. In 2010 the denomination boasted about two million members across the country. By 2023 that number had slipped to 1.5 million.
