1519 DJOKOVIC BEATS MCDONALD IN STRAIGHT SETS

Novak Djokovic, chasing a fourth Roland Garros title, made the perfect start to his campaign with a dominant 6-3 6-3 6-3 win over American Mackenzie McDonald.

1430 PEGULA CRUSHES TODONI

American third seed Jessica Pegula carved out a comfortable 6-2 6-4 victory over Romanian Anca Todoni to advance to the second round.

1330 Shelton ADVANCES AFTER GASTON WITHDRAWAL

American qualifier Ethan Quinn advanced to the second round after 16th seed Grigor Dimitrov retired during their match due to injury.

Bulgarian Dimitrov, who won the first two sets 6-2 6-3, took an off-court medical timeout before struggling through the third set which he lost 6-2.
