Former finalist Alexander Zverev overcame early nerves to beat Jesper De Jong 7-6(3) 6-4 6-1 to reach the quarter-finals, where the second seed will face Rafael Jodar.

1512 TEENAGER JODAR REACHES LAST EIGHT

Spanish 19-year-old Rafael Jodar fought back to beat compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta 4-6 4-6 6-1 6-2 6-2 to reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam for the first time.

1320 SVITOLINA TO FACE FELLOW UKRAINIAN KOSTYUK IN QUARTERS

Ukrainian seventh seed Elina Svitolina reached the French Open’s quarter-finals for the sixth time in her career, knocking out Switzerland’s 11th seed Belinda Bencic 4-6 6-4 6-0. She will face fellow Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk in the last eight.

Iga Swiatek’s quest for a fifth French Open crown was ended by Ukrainian 15th seed Marta Kostyuk, who knocked out the Polish world number three 7-5 6-1 in the fourth round.
