A team official says the New Orleans Saints are expected to participate in the NFL’s first game in France, playing in Paris as early as next season.
Team president Dennis Lauscha confirmed this week that the league is finalizing plans and said an announcement is expected in the coming weeks.
“You might hear in the next couple weeks that we might be having a game internationally and that game may be in Paris,” Lauscha said Tuesday, per the Times-Picayune “We have the rights to the country of France and Monaco, so that makes so much sense, we think. We’re really excited about that.”
Addressing the Greater New Orleans Quarterback Club, Tausch said the NFL is in talks with officials at the 80,000-seat Stade de France. The venue is the largest in France and was used for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
The Saints received exclusive marketing rights in France in 2023.
The NFL’s International Series featured games in Brazil, Ireland, England, Germany and Spain this season.
Games are already planned for 2026 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Melbourne, Australia; Mexico City; and London (two games).
