(Enumclaw, WA) — Enumclaw Police are trying to identify three suspects who cut down two license plate reading cameras on Saturday. The metal poles were cut and the cameras were left at the scene. The suspects were driving an early-2000s white, short-body cargo van. Detectives recovered soil impression evidence and items that might contain fingerprints or DNA. The incident is being investigated as first-degree malicious mischief. Police say that while people may disagree about the use of automated license plate reading technology, that doesn’t authorize someone to destroy taxpayer funded, city owned property.
