Cam Heyward and the Pittsburgh Steelers have agreed on a revised contract.

Heyward’s new deal reportedly includes $3.2 million in incentives tied to the playoffs and postseason wins. The star defensive lineman can earn close to $18 million this season after originally being set to make $14.75 million.

The Steelers will open the regular season at MetLife Stadium against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Heyward held in for part of training camp in an attempt to receive a raise. The four-time All-Pro was noncommittal Friday about playing versus the Jets, although he said he was “preparing” to participate.

Heyward, 36, signed a two-year extension last offseason after missing six games and posting just two sacks in an injury-marred 2023 campaign. However, he told reporters in August that he told the team to “expect me to come back” when he becomes an All-Pro.

Sure enough, Heyward earned All-Pro honors last season after posting eight sacks across 17 starts. The 14-year pro also was invited to his seventh career Pro Bowl.

The Steelers are looking to make their third straight playoff appearance this year after finishing 10-7 in 2024. Kickoff time against the Jets is 1 p.m. ET.
