The presence of 10 United States Ryder Cup players — led by world No. 1 and tournament champion Scottie Scheffler — drove a massive ratings jump for last week’s Procore Championship.

Golf Channel averaged 441,000 viewers for Sunday’s final round, according to Sports Business Journal. That represents more than a 400 percent increase from the 104,000 who tuned into last year’s final round.

Scheffler won in dramatic fashion, coming from behind to earn a one-stroke victory over Ryder Cup teammate Ben Griffin. It was his 19th career PGA Tour victory and his sixth of 2025.

Scheffler believes that the majority of the U.S. Ryder Cup team being in Napa, Calif. last week will prove to be a benefit at next week’s competition in New York, but said it’s too early to say whether he’ll return to defend his Procore title next year.

“I mean, I barely know what I’m going to do tomorrow let alone a year from now,” Scheffler said Sunday. “It’s always nice to have an opportunity to come and defend your championships, but we’ll have to cross that bridge when we get there.

“I’ve been pretty consistent with that over time. I don’t like committing to tournaments unless I know for sure I’m going to play. Backing out from a tournament is not a good feeling when you’ve already committed.”

Scheffler does figure to be a member of the 2025 U.S. Presidents Cup roster that will take on the International team at Medinah Country Club outside Chicago from Sept. 25-27, 2026.
