(Reuters) – Moscow and Washington warn each other about planned launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles, Russian news agencies cited Sergei Karakayev, commander of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces, as saying on Monday.

“The Russian Federation informs the American side at least 24 hours in advance about any planned launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles and submarine-launched ballistic missiles,” Russia’s RIA state news agency cited Karakayev as saying in an interview with the Krasnaya Zvezda defence ministry newspaper.

“The United States of America also provides similar information. Such notification shall include the planned launch date, launch location, and warhead impact area.”
