MOSCOW (Reuters) -Russian air defences shot down two Ukrainian drones en route to Moscow on Tuesday, the city’s mayor said, while two major airports in the Russian capital temporarily halted all incoming and outgoing traffic.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said emergency services were working on the scene of the downed drones.

All flights in and out of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo airports, the city’s first and second largest by traffic, respectively, were temporarily stopped, Russia’s aviation watchdog and Sheremetyevo said.
