Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green dodged a fine but was reprimanded by the NBA for engaging a fan courtside on Sunday night in New Orleans, according to ESPN.

Sam Green, 35, was identified following the no-contact confrontation under the basket which began with the New Orleans native shouting “Angel Reese” in the first quarter after Draymond Green missed multiple shots after offensive rebounds.

“It was a good joke at first, but you can’t keep calling me a woman,” Draymond Green said of the attempted dig. “I got four kids, one on the way. You can’t keep calling me a woman.”

Reese, 23, is a WNBA standout with the Chicago Sky and All-American at LSU whose career average is 12.9 rebounds per game as a pro.

The Warriors defeated the Pelicans 124-106 and Green was 3-of-13 from the floor to finish with eight points and 10 rebounds.

Draymond Green is not a stranger to fines or discipline from the league. He was fined for flipping off a fan in Memphis in 2022 and later the same year was docked $25,000 for “obscene language” directed at a fan in Dallas.

Monday night, the two men were in close quarters for a few seconds before NBA official Courtney Kirkland stepped between and Draymond Green was ushered away. Draymond Green said the fan had less to say the closer he got to his seats.

“It’s fine. We move on,” Draymond Green said.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he’s “fine” with players choosing “to go over and have a discussion. It would have been nice if security had gotten there a little bit earlier.”
