Mets place RHP Christian Scott (hip) on 15-day injured list

New York Mets right-hander Christian Scott was placed on the 15-day injured list on Monday because of a right hip impingement.
Per MLB Network, the injury is “not believed (to be) serious.” The move was retroactive to Friday.
Scott, who turned 27 on Monday, is 2-0 with a 3.10 ERA in nine appearances (all starts) this season. He has 47 strikeouts with 19 walks in 40 2/3 innings in his return after missing the 2025 season following Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.
Scott posted a 0-3 record with a 4.56 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 47 1/3 innings over nine starts in 2024.
In other moves on Monday, the Mets recalled right-handers Jonathan Pintaro and Tobias Myers from Triple-A Syracuse, with Myers slated to start Monday’s game against the host Cincinnati Reds.
New York also optioned right-hander Daniel Duarte to Syracuse, claimed shortstop Zack Short off waivers from the Detroit Tigers and moved first baseman Jorge Polanco (left Achilles bursitis, right wrist contusion) from the 10-day to 60-day injured list.
Short, 31, batted .167 (6-for-36) in 23 games for the Tigers this season. He is a career .172 hitter with 15 home runs and 69 RBIs in 264 games for the Tigers (2021-23, 2026), Mets (2024), Boston Red Sox (2024), Atlanta Braves (2024) and Houston Astros (2025).
Myers, 27, is 0-1 with one save, a 4.05 ERA, seven walks and 26 strikeouts in 33 1/3 innings over 20 games (two starts) for New York this season. He has a career 10-9 record with one save, a 3.28 ERA, 58 walks and 191 strikeouts in 222 innings over 69 games (33 starts) for the Milwaukee Brewers (2024-25) and Mets.
Pintaro, 28, has made three relief appearances for the Mets this season and the rookie has a 0-0 record with a 1.35 ERA, one walk and five strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
Duarte, 29, had not allowed a run with one hit, one walk and three strikeouts in five innings pitched over three relief appearances this season.
