Report: Rockets F Kevin Durant (personal) to miss two games

Houston Rockets forward Kevin Durant will miss at least two games as he tends to a family matter, ESPN reported Sunday.

Durant is expected to be out for road games against his former teams when he misses Monday’s contest at Phoenix and Wednesday’s matchup at Golden State. Houston then plays back-to-back games at Utah starting Saturday.

In his first season with the Rockets, Durant has averaged 24.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 14 games. He scored just 13 points on 5-of-15 shooting in a 112-109 home loss to the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

In 18 career seasons, the 37-year-old has averaged 27.2 points with 6.9 rebounds and 4.4 assists over 1,137 games (1,134 starts) for the Seattle SuperSonics/Oklahoma City Thunder (2007-2016), Golden State Warriors (2016-19) Brooklyn Nets (2020-23), Suns (2023-25) and Rockets.

The 15-time All-Star and 2014 MVP won NBA titles in 2017 and 2018 with the Warriors.

Houston is 10-4 this season, fifth best in the Western Conference heading into NBA play on Sunday.
