The San Francisco 49ers voided the guaranteed money in wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk’s contract for 2026 during training camp, multiple outlets reported.

Aiyuk, who has not played since sustaining a knee injury in October 2024, had not been meeting the requirements of his deal, per Friday’s reports.

Specifically, the 49ers voided a $24.935 million option bonus that became guaranteed on April 1. That action clears the way for San Francisco to “part ways with him soon,” ESPN reported.

It’s unclear if Aiyuk will be paid his $1.215 million base salary for 2026 or any of his bonuses for workouts and per-game appearances.

Aiyuk, 27, finished last season on injured reserve after tearing the ACL, MCL and meniscus in his right knee during a Week 7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list in July and still has not been cleared to return, per ESPN.

On Monday, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Aiyuk remains “week-to-week.”

“When he had such a big injury like that, just waiting until he is fully comfortable to come up and start practicing,” Shanahan said.

Aiyuk posted 25 receptions for 374 yards and no touchdowns over seven games last season after developing into a star over the previous two campaigns.

He caught a career-high 78 passes for 1,015 yards and a career-best eight TDs in 2022, and hauled in 75 catches for a career-high 1,342 yards in 2023. He was rewarded with a four-year, $120 million extension in August 2024.

Drafted in the first round (25th overall) in 2020, Aiyuk has recorded 294 receptions for 4,305 yards and 25 TDs in 69 games (67 starts) with the 49ers.
