(SRN NEWS  )  A new AP-NORC poll on transgenderism finds about 4-in-10 people want public school teachers to report to parents if their children are identifying at school as transgender or nonbinary.  Roughly 3-in-10 say no and a similar number are neutral.  About half of poll respondents also oppose allowing government insurance programs such as Medicare and Medicaid to cover sex-change operations and hormone shots for anyone.  Roughly two-thirds of American adults oppose tax dollars for such procedures on children under 19.

(  )  The Anti-Defamation League is calling on shareholders of Alphabet — the parent company of Google — to vote against a proposal designed to get the firm to cut ties with Israel.  ADL spokesman Jonathan Greenblatt says “Proposal Nine offers the pretense of concern for human rights when in fact it is a thinly disguised ploy to weaken Israel’s national security.  It is closely aligned with the objectives of the Boycott, Divest, Sanctions movement.”  The proposal is expected to be submitted to a shareholder vote on June 6th.

(  )  A judge has killed Michigan’s 24-hour waiting period before an abortion, saying it conflicts with a voter-approved amendment that enshrined abortion in the state constitution three years ago.  Judge Sima Patel also overturned a regulation that required abortion clinics to offer a fetal development chart and information about alternatives to abortion, declaring them “coercive and stigmatizing.”  And the judge stopped a requirement that only a physician, not other health professionals, can perform an abortion.  The plaintiff in the case was a group of abortion clinics.

(  )  Democratic Governor Wes Moore has signed a bill into law to make Maryland the first state to use money collected from a surcharge on insurance plans sold under Obamacare to pay for an abortion grant program. The measure will make about 25 million dollars available when it takes effect July 1st.  That’s because the money from the one dollar surcharge has been unused and growing over the last 15 years since Obamacare went into effect in 2010.  It’s expected to generate about three million annually in future years.
