( SRN NEWS ) The Trump administration has found that the California Department of Education and the state’s high school sports federation have violated federal civil rights law. They did so by allowing boys to compete on girls sports teams. The Department of Education announced the finding and proposes a resolution that would require California to bar males from competing against females in sports. It would also require that the state strip transgender athletes of records, titles and awards. If California rejects the proposal it could lose its federal education funding.
( ) Armenia’s security services have arrested one of the country’s top religious leaders on terrorism charges and accused him of plotting to overthrow the government. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan (gal-STAN-yan) is a leading figure in the influential Armenian Apostolic Church. The government accuses him of planning to carry out bombings and arson attacks to disrupt power supplies and stage accidents on major roads to paralyze traffic. His lawyer described the charges as “fiction.” The archbishop leads a political group that wants the prime minister to resign.
( ) Pro-life advocates are celebrating another friendly ruling from the Supreme Court. Thursday’s decision will allow states to cut off Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood if they wish to. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in the country with ever-growing profits and pro-life advocates say it hardly needs taxpayer dollars. The Supreme Court ruling came in a case out of South Carolina, where nearly 100,000 dollars in Medicaid funding goes to Planned Parenthood every year. The state bans abortion at six weeks.
