(SRN NEWS ) The South Carolina Supreme Court has ruled that the state can keep banning abortions around six weeks into pregnancy — clearing up a debate over when an unborn baby’s heartbeat begins. The justices unanimously ruled that while the medical language in the 2023 law is vague, supporters and opponents of the law all seemed to think it banned abortions after six weeks, until recently. The court also stated that it believes that the intent of the South Carolina General Assembly was to ban abortion at the earliest moment under the law.
( ) Missouri lawmakers have approved a referendum seeking to repeal an abortion amendment passed by voters six months ago. The Republican-led Senate has voted to place a new amendment on the statewide ballot that would instead impose a ban on most abortions, with exceptions for rape and incest. The vote came after the GOP majority used a rare procedural move to cut off a filibuster by Democrats who opposed the measure. The new referendum would go before voters in November 2026 unless the governor calls a special election sooner than that.
( ) Poland holds a presidential election on Sunday. There are 13 candidates but all indications are that it will be a showdown between Warsaw Mayor Rafaeł Trzaskowski (tras-COW-skee) and conservative historian Karol Nawrocki. Trzaskowski’s liberal views — particularly his support for the LGBT agenda and participation in Gay Pride parades — has alienated many voters in predominantly-Christian Poland. If none of the 13 candidates wins at least 50 percent of the vote on Sunday, a runoff will be held on June 1st between the top two.

Applicants to the Sunset Community Garden in Queens were subjected to the requirement. Zionism is the belief that the ancient land of Israel still belongs to the Jewish people. Operators of the garden have also been fighting with the city over their desire to erect a memorial on the site to an advocate for transgenderism and prostitution.
