(SRN NEWS) – The Trump administration has signaled that it will move to let Idaho enforce its strict abortion ban.  The Biden administration had gone to court to block the law, saying it would prevent women from having abortions in medical emergencies.  Dropping the case would be among the new administration’s first major moves on abortion.  In his first term, President Trump appointed many of the Supreme Court justices who voted to overturn Roe versus Wade in the summer of 2022. He has since said that the issue should be left to the states.

The military services have 30 days to figure out how they will seek out and identify transgender service members to remove them from the force.  A memo sent to Defense Department leaders orders the services to set up procedures to identify troops diagnosed with or being treated for gender dysphoria by March 26th.  They will then have 30 days to begin removing those troops.  The new Pentagon policy provides some exceptions.  If an existing transgender service member can prove they support a specific warfighting need they can get a waiver.

A federal judge has extended a nationwide block on President Trump’s executive orders halting federal funding for providers of sex-change operations on children.  The judge’s ruling comes in a lawsuit filed by families with transgender kids who claim their health care has been compromised by the president’s actions.  Another judge has also blocked Mr. Trump’s action in four states which filed their own lawsuit over the order.  Leftwing groups have launched more than 100 lawsuits opposing executive orders the president has issued.

China is touting its persecution of Christians.  The Communist government has released a statement saying that its “public security authorities intensified efforts to dismantle cult organizations in 2024.  They have worked to curb the growth and spread of cults, mitigating potential threats to national security.”  China considers Christianity to be a cult and only allows worship inside heavily regulated state churches where the party is put first.  House churches and any other private worship is punishable by long prison sentences.
