(SRN NEWS) – A full-scale replica of the secret annex where Anne Frank penned her famous Holocaust diary has opened in New York City.  The exhibit at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan was unveiled Monday as the world marked International Holocaust Remembrance Day.  This is the first time the annex has been completely recreated outside of Amsterdam, where a similar display is a centerpiece of the Anne Frank House Museum. The Frank family hid for two years in an attic in Amsterdam during World War Two before they were discovered and sent to concentration camps.

President Trump’s new Justice Department leadership is eliminating Biden administration policies that led to aggressive prosecution of pro-life protesters.  The Justice Department says prosecutions and civil actions under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act will now be permitted only in extraordinary circumstances or in cases presenting “significant aggravating factors”.  The president has also ordered the immediate dismissal of three FACE Act cases related to 2021 demonstrations at abortion clinics in Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Ohio.

The Department of Education is investigating Denver Public Schools for alleged discrimination.  The district converted a girl’s restroom on the second floor of East High School into an all-gender restroom while leaving the other bathroom exclusively for male students. The probe into the bathroom at East High School marks a sharp departure from the department’s investigations under former President Joe Biden, which sought to promote transgenderism in the schools.  Parental outrage over the Biden policy helped fuel President Trump’s election in November.

North Dakota’s highest court has ruled that the state’s overturned abortion ban will not be enforced during an appeal of a judge’s ruling that struck down the law in September.  This latest decision comes after attorneys for the state had asked the Supreme Court for a stay pending appeal.  North Dakota’s last abortion provider, now in Minnesota, is challenging the abortion ban as violating the state constitution.  Attorney General Drew Wrigley says, “We will continue moving forward to fully litigate this matter before the state Supreme Court.”
