(SRN NEWS) – Abortion advocates are trying to find ways around potential bans on the drug mifepristone — the primary ingredient in chemical abortions. A new study in the New England Journal of Medicine suggests that Ella, a pill used for contraception, could be repurposed at a higher dose as an abortion drug. Roughly two-thirds of all abortions in this country are now carried out with the use of drugs and several pro-life states have gone to court seeking restrictions on their use. Mifepristone is available over the counter thanks to the efforts of the Biden administration.

Teachers’ unions are some of the most outspoken opponents of Republican policies in Utah, fighting efforts to limit the LGBT agenda in classrooms and end Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programs. GOP lawmakers argue that with their liberal bias, the unions are unfit to represent teachers with conservative views. The Utah legislation has passed out of committee in the state House of Representatives.
Republicans put Pennsylvania and Wisconsin back in the win column in the 2024 presidential race. Now they’re hoping that momentum carries over to contests this year that will determine whether their state Supreme Courts retain left-leaning majorities or flip to conservative control. The outcome could be pivotal in deciding cases related to abortion in particular. Money is already pouring in and is expected to eclipse the more than 70 million dollars combined that was spent on Supreme Court races in both states just two years ago.
Harvard University will adopt the working definition of anti-Semitism established by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The IHRA definition is favored by many Jewish community leaders and politicians because its broad language can be applied to most anti-Israel rhetoric as well. There has been a sharp increase in anti-Semitism around the world since the October 7th, 2023, massacre of Israeli civilians by Hamas.
