Baltimore Ravens standout defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will miss Monday night’s game against the visiting Detroit Lions due to a neck injury, coach John Harbaugh said Saturday.
Madubuike didn’t practice at all this week. The two-time Pro Bowl selection sustained the injury during the Week 2 game against the Cleveland Browns.
“I really can’t share any details on the injury itself but it’s something that they’re looking at,” Harbaugh said Saturday. “He came up with some symptoms after the game. Nothing specific in the game where we saw something happen. But they’re dealing with the symptoms and they’re testing right now. So he will be ruled out for this game, and they’re going to try to get to the bottom of it.”
Madubuike is off to a solid start with a sack in each of Baltimore’s first two games. He recorded 6.5 sacks last season and a career-best 13 in 2023.
Veteran linebacker Kyle Van Noy (hamstring) missed his third straight practice and was ruled out via the Baltimore injury report. Fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) and tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) also will sit out.
For Detroit, defensive end Marcus Davenport (chest) will miss the game. Reporters saw Davenport on Friday with his right arm in a sling.
“We’ve got some other tests back,” Lions coach Dan Campbell said Saturday before the injury report was released. “We do not feel this is season-ending.”
Standout left tackle Taylor Decker (shoulder) missed practice Saturday one day after being a full participant. He was listed as questionable.
Detroit also listed linebacker Jack Campbell (ankle), safety Kerby Joseph (knee) and cornerback D.J. Reed (knee) as questionable.
