Raiders star defensive end Maxx Crosby injured his left knee during the second quarter on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs and didn’t return to the field in Las Vegas’ 31-0 road loss.
Crosby injured his knee on a low block from Kansas City tight end Noah Gray in the second quarter. The 28-year-old also is dealing with a back injury.
He had three tackles before exiting.
“Maxx has had a bit of a sore knee and I don’t know how it happened today in the game, but he wasn’t his full self,” Raiders coach Pete Carroll said after the game. “But he could play and he wanted to be in there and he was. But then we had to yank him because he didn’t look right.”
NFL Network reported on Sunday night that Crosby was taken out of the game as a precaution and that he should be OK moving forward. Las Vegas (2-5) has a bye week before hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3) on Nov. 2.
Crosby, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, has four sacks in seven games this season and 63.5 for his career.
