OTTAWA, Jan 14 (Reuters) – Quebec premier Francois Legault will announce on Wednesday that he is resigning after more than seven years in office, La Presse newspaper reported.
Legault is due to give a press conference at 11 am (1600 GMT). The next election in Quebec, Canada’s second most populous province, must be held by October 5 and polls indicate Legault’s center-right Coalition Avenir Quebec party will lose to the separatist Parti Quebecois.
