Eight-time All-Star Bryce Harper was reinstated to the Philadelphia Phillies’ active roster on Monday after missing the last 22 games with right wrist inflammation.

During Harper’s stint on the 10-day injured list that began June 6, the Phillies posted a 12-10 record yet gained three games on the New York Mets to take over the lead in the National League East.

Harper made his return Monday night in a home game against the San Diego Padres, batting third and manning first base. He went 0-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch as Philadelphia won 4-0.

Before Monday, the 32-year-old Harper had posted a .258/.368/.446 slash line this season with nine homers, eight stolen bases and 34 RBIs in 57 games. His .814 OPS ties for the second-lowest percentage of his 14-year career.

To make room for Harper, the Phillies designated infielder Buddy Kennedy for assignment. Kennedy went 0-for-7 with a walk in four appearances.
