Point guard Mario Saint-Supery is leaving Gonzaga and has signed with Spanish team Valencia of the EuroLeague.

Per the Field of 68, his signing was a shock to Gonzaga. He had been taking part in practice with the Bulldogs in Spokane, Wash., during the week.

Saint-Supery, 20, is signed with Valencia through June 30, 2030.

In his first — and only — season at Gonzaga in 2025-26, Saint-Supery was selected to the West Coast Conference All-Freshman Team. He appeared in all 35 games (17 starts) and averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 23.1 minutes per game.

He shot 40.3% from the 3-point line (48-for-119), and 87.8% from the free-throw line (65-for-74). He was being counted on to start at point guard for the Bulldogs, given his improvement from the beginning of the season to the end.

From Malaga, Spain, Saint-Supery is returning home to play for head coach Xavi Albert at Valencia.

Gonzaga head coach Mark Few did not immediately comment on the point guard’s departure, but it is a significant blow for the Bulldogs.

Ahead of a move to the reconfigured Pac-12, Gonzaga had only three players returning from a team that finished 31-4 and lost to Texas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in March.

That number of returnees now stands at two.
