The Oilers will be without center Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for a week due to an undisclosed injury, Edmonton coach Kris Knoblauch told reporters before Monday’s home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Nugent-Hopkins, 32, has averaged a point per game this season, notching five goals and 11 assists in 16 games. The 15-year veteran has spent his entire career with the Oilers, who drafted him No. 1 overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Over 975 regular-season games, the British Columbia native has compiled 764 points (276 goals, 488 assists). He has thrived in the playoffs, notching 81 points (23 goals, 58 assists) in 96 games.

Center Mattias Janmark, who has yet to play this season due to an undisclosed injury, will make his season debut in place of Nugent-Hopkins.

The 32-year-old Janmark is in his fourth season with Edmonton after beginning his career with the Dallas Stars, who selected the native of Stockholm, Sweden, in the third round in 2013. He has also played for the Chicago Blackhawks and Vegas Golden Knights, tallying 213 points (82 goals, 131 assists) in 637 games.
