(Reuters) -Elon Musk’s internet service Starlink has made an application to operate a satellite connection in southwestern Switzerland, the Swiss office of communications (BAKOM) said on Tuesday.

Newspaper Le Nouvelliste reported that the satellite provider had submitted an application to the Swiss government, planning 40 antennas in the municipality of Leuk. BAKOM said the firm’s application had been made earlier this summer.

The potential timing and content of any licence is still to be determined, a spokesperson for BAKOM told Reuters, saying that the authority was in touch with Starlink.
