MLS roundup: Rapids extend D Keegan Rosenberry

The Colorado Rapids signed defender Keegan Rosenberry to a three-year extension through the 2028 season on Thursday.

The 31-year-old captain is entering his seventh season as the club’s longest-tenured player. The two-time All-Star ranks fourth in Rapids history in MLS appearances (172) and starts (167).

“Keegan has been a cornerstone of our team for the past six seasons, and we’re thrilled to secure his future with the club,” Rapids president Padraig Smith said. “His consistency, leadership, and professionalism both on and off the field have been instrumental in shaping our team’s identity. As a veteran presence, his experience and influence will remain invaluable as we continue building toward future success.”

Rosenberry has recorded nine goals and 17 assists in 252 matches (243 starts) with the Philadelphia Union (2016-18) and Colorado.

–LAFC have acquired Turkish forward Cengiz Under on loan from Super Lig powerhouse Fenerbahce. The deal runs through June 30 and includes a purchase option.

Under, 27, becomes the club’s third designated player, alongside forwards Olivier Giroud and Denis Bouanga.

He has tallied 66 goals and 46 assists in 343 professional matches across Europe, playing in Italy (AS Roma), England (Leicester City) and France (Marseille) in addition to his native Turkey.

–The Philadelphia Union signed 18-year-old homegrown forward Sal Olivas to a four-year contract through 2028 with a club option for 2029.

He recorded four goals and one assist in 20 regular-season games with MLS NEXT Pro side Union II during the 2024 campaign.
