SAO PAULO, Sept 7 (Reuters) – Brazilian leftist President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and right-wing challenger Senator Flavio Bolsonaro are tied in a potential second-round runoff in October’s election, a Quaest poll commissioned by Globo showed on Monday.

In a simulated runoff, Lula would win 41% of the vote against 41% for the eldest son of former President Jair Bolsonaro. A Quaest poll released on September 2 had Lula leading Bolsonaro 42% to 41%.

Quaest surveyed 2,004 people between September 3-6. The poll has a margin of error of 2 percentage points.
