Los Angeles FC acquired Canadian forward Jacob Shaffelburg from Nashville SC on Monday.
In exchange, Nashville receives $1 million in general allocation money — $500,000 in 2026 and $500,000 in 2027 — and retains a sell-on percentage in any future deals.
“Jacob is a versatile, attack-minded player who brings incredible pace and intensity to our group,” said LAFC co-president and general manager John Thorrington. “He has proven himself at the international level with Canada and enters an important year with big ambitions ahead, hopefully including the World Cup.”
Shaffelburg, 26, spent most of the past four seasons in Nashville, notching 11 goals in 82 games. He had four goals and two assists in 23 MLS matches in 2025.
In 168 career appearances across all competitions, Shaffelburg has produced 18 goals and 28 assists with Toronto FC (2019-22) and Nashville (2022-25).
With LAFC, Shaffelburg joins a potent attack headlined by Denis Bouanga and Son Heung-Min.
