Jets add Luke Schenn, reportedly Brandon Tanev in separate deals

The Winnipeg Jets bolstered their roster on Friday, acquiring defenseman Luke Schenn from the Pittsburgh Penguins and reportedly adding forward Brandon Tanev from the Seattle Kraken.

The Jets sent a second-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and a fourth-round selection in 2027 to acquire Schenn, who was traded for the second time in three days.

Pittsburgh acquired Schenn and forward Tommy Novak from the Nashville Predators on Wednesday in exchange for forward Michael Bunting and a fourth-round draft pick in 2026.

Per TSN, Winnipeg sent a second-round pick in 2027 to the Kraken in exchange for Tanev, who played in parts of four seasons with the Jets.

Schenn, 35, has five points (one goal, four assists) in 61 games with the Predators this season.

A two-time Stanley Cup champion with Tampa Bay, Schenn has 203 points (44 goals, 159 assists) in 1,057 career games with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings, Arizona Coyotes, Anaheim Ducks, Vancouver Canucks, Lightning and Predators.

Tanev, 33, has 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) in 60 games this season.

He has 175 points (83 goals, 92 assists) in 533 career games with the Jets, Penguins and Kraken.
